Laura Alcalde is a filmmaker and video artist whose work moves between fashion, commercial film, and creative non-fiction. Through original and found footage, she develops a personal and occasionally experimental voice. Her narrative and essay films, shot on digital and 16mm, explore gendered behaviors, identity performance, and the ways bodies inhabit space, with all their tensions and poetics.
Laura has a Masters degree in Creative Documentary Cinema at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Previously, she studied a BA in Fashion Photography and Styling at the London College of Fashion; her background is in fashion editorial where she worked as stylist and editor in independent fashion and culture magazines in the UK.
She is currently a freelancer, based in Barcelona.
